Treatment Options

We want every patient who steps into our office to have access to treatment options that are both effective at addressing their orthodontic needs and suited to what they want from their treatment. To help, we offer a wide variety of treatments. Some that you can access at our office are listed below.

Early Treatment

Though an orthodontist can enhance a smile at any age, there is an optimal time period to begin treatment. Beginning treatment at this time often ensures the greatest result and the least amount of time and expense. The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that the initial orthodontic evaluation should occur at the first sign of orthodontic problems or no later than age 7. Orthodontic treatment may not be necessary at this time, but vigilant examination can anticipate the most advantageous time to begin treatment and intercept major problems.

Traditional Metal & Clear Braces

The most common and efficient method of treatment is the use of traditional braces, where brackets are bonded to the teeth and connected with wires to achieve the desired movement over time. A similar yet more discreet option is ceramic braces, which are tooth colored brackets that blend with the enamel and allow the orthodontist to accomplish the same goals more esthetically.

Our mission is to provide efficient, predictable care of the highest quality. We do not experiment with unproven techniques and inefficient technologies, we provide great smiles.

Clear aligners

Clear aligners are another treatment that can help achieve your orthodontic goals. This is a system that accomplishes tooth movement using a series of customized clear trays. Clear aligners differ from traditional braces in appearance, but share some similar mechanisms to achieve the final result. They do not treat moderate to severe orthodontic problems to the same “gold standard” of fixed braces.

Aligners / Invisalign

Invisalign is a brand of aesthetic treatment options, using custom molded clear trays to move your teeth to a more ideal position. Because they are removable, patient compliance is extremely important with aligners. Invisalign is a terrific option for working professionals or patients seeking a discrete solution to improve their smile, however it is not ideal for every case.

Retention

After the active portion of treatment is over, you move into the retention phase. This important phase is designed to keep the teeth in their ideal positions for life. For about two weeks after treatment, retainers will be worn pretty much full time. After that, they will be worn at night. Wear them more often if you notice any shifting.

Everything in the universe is constantly moving, retainers will help protect your beautiful smile.

Be sure to get a replacement immediately if a retainer is lost, if any new teeth erupt, or if you have any dental treatment that changes your dentition.

Surgical Ortho

Surgical orthodontics is a combined treatment by our doctors and an oral surgeon to correct severe jaw abnormalities. These issues are determined after a careful exam and reviewing the patient’s X-rays and models. After diagnosing and planning the treatment. The orthodontist initially levels and aligns the teeth in the jawbone, then the oral surgeon positions the jaws into a more normal position to allow the bite to come together ideally. This procedure results in the improved ability to chew, speak, and breathe, while also delivering tremendous facial aesthetics.

Sleep Apnea

Dr Moore has constructed state of the art Sleep Apnea appliances for over 30 years, using only proven treatment modalities.

Sleep apnea is a disorder characterized by abnormal pauses in breathing or instances of abnormally low breathing during sleep. Each lapse in breathing can last ten seconds to multiple minutes, and may occur 5 to 30+ times an hour. This disorder prevents deep sleep that refreshes the body, and sufferers are frequently drowsy during the day. Sleep apnea treatment usually begins with behavioral therapy and/or the use of a device to keep a patient’s airways unobstructed and ensure normal breathing.
